Wedding Photography Philadelphia: Great Wedding Photography Locations in Philadelphia

When it comes to wedding photography, Philadelphia is a fantastic city. With its urban setting, historic buildings, beautiful parks and reputation as the “city of love,” it's hard to go wrong in Philly. For a list of some of the best wedding photo locations in Philadelphia, keep reading

Longwood Gardens

Most Philadelphia wedding photographers will tell you that you can't go wrong at Longwood Gardens. With its acres of flowers and fountains, Longwood is pristine, beautiful and a stunning backdrop for your wedding day photos.

Wedding photography is permitted at Longwood Gardens, but must be done outside during operating hours and can't interfere with other visitors. Everyone going for photographs, including the photographer, must also pay the $16 admission fee. It should also be noted that lights and tripods may not be used at any time.

LOVE Park

What could be more romantic than photos taken under the infamous LOVE statue in Philadelphia's Love Park? Officially, the park is named JFK Plaza, but is lovingly referred to as LOVE Park thanks to the infamous Robert Indiana LOVE sculpture overlooking the park in Philadelphia's city center.

While free and certainly romantic, it can be a popular wedding photography spot, particularly on a beautiful July Saturday. You may want to go early or allot extra time to wait for other wedding parties.

Bartram's Garden

As one of the nation's oldest botanical gardens, Bartram's Gardens are steeped in history and tradition. They're also incredibly beautiful, making them the perfect location for wedding photography. Philadelphia residents will instantly recognize the beautiful stone courtyard and classic coach house.

While Bartram's Garden can be rented out for photos only, brides should be aware that the site is often booked out for special events, including weddings. For strictly photos, it can be booked for between $200 and $250 an hour.

Art Museum Steps

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the largest art museums in the United States. Located in the infamous Fairmount Park, the museum makes a stunning backdrop for memorable, Philadelphia wedding photos.

With its eight pillars and stunning steps, it's a perfect photo spot. Also, fans of the Rocky movie may recognize these iconic steps from the popular film. However, to use the iconic steps as a wedding photography location, you or your photographer must obtain a permit from the Fairmount Park Commission ($50 per hour).

Rittenhouse Square Park

Thanks to its perfect location right in Center City, Rittenhouse Square Park is a popular and convenient setting for wedding photography. Philadelphia brides love the park's green grounds, beautiful fall colors and the proximity to nearby churches and wedding venues. No permit is required.
